In recent years, with the development of the economy and increased income, the need of livestock and poultry meat food is increasing, but at the same time, the number of the family who engaged in small-scale breeding is decreasing. Large-scale breeding in China will become the main development direction and inevitable trend in poultry and livestock farming systems. The large-scale poultry and livestock breeding farms are causing a lot of environmental pollution. There is a very urgent need for treat the wastewater from the large-scale poultry and livestock breeding farms.In this thesis, the wastewater from the large-scale poultry and livestock breeding farms in Loudi is studied as object. The combined system of anaerobic baffled reactor/bio-contact oxidation/constructed wetlands was applied to treat the large-scale breeding farm wastewater. This article mainly researches on the characteristics of the wastewater from digester; the starting of the anaerobic baffled reactor; the starting of bio-contact oxidation reactor; the operation characteristics and the Pollutant removal efficiency of the system. The research results showed:(1) After treated by the system, the CODCr of the effluent is293.8mg/L, the average removal rate reaches90%; the BOD5is25.27mg/L, the average removal rate reaches96%; the NH3-N is57.5mg/L, the average removal rate reaches93%; the TP is2.15mg/L, the average removal rate reaches82%; the SS is101.4mg/L, the average removal rate reaches91%;The effluent reach the Discharge standard of pollutants for livestock and poultry breeding(GB15596-2001);(2) Using the collect function of the reactor, the anaerobic baffled reactor can successful start without seed sludge. In the plateau stage, the average CODCr removal rate of the reactor reaches70%; the NH3-N reaches27%;(3) The removal of CODCr and BOD5was mainly achieved by the anaerobic baffled reactor; the removal of NH3-N was mainly achieved by the bio-contact oxidation. The removal of CODCr can be strengthened by extending the anaerobic process. When the aerobic processes is debugged the growth situation of the nitrifying bacteria should be considered as the main observation object;(4) When the reflux rate of the water from the aerobic processes is100%, the NH3-N removal effectiveness is the best. The average NH3-N removal rate of the combined system reaches88%.
