Optical vortex is a special kind of light field, because of its unique optical properties, such as the smaller darks pot size, no heating and diffraction effects, the larger orbital angular momentum, and so on. Since been proposed in the1980s, people research it in system quickly, it became an important branch of modern optical research-singular optics, and have been practical application in a wide range of fields, reflects its unique advantages. The paper studies the transmission characteristics of the off-axis optical vortex, it divided into four chapters, the contents are as follows:The chapter one introduces the concepts, features, applications, and research progress in domestic and abroad of optical vortex. Finally, give the content and study significance of this paper.The chapter two introduces the generation and verification of optical vortex. First of all, give the mathematical expressions of optical vortex and its classification. Secondly, introduce several generation method of vortex beam and contrast their advantages and disadvantages. Finally, optical vortex of different topological charge values is generated by using transmissive type amplitude spatial light modulator and Computer-Generated Holograms (CGH) method, and get verified by observing their interference fringes with plane wave or spherical wave.The chapter three we study in detail of the transmission characteristics of off-axis vortex beams which topological charge is+2in free space, first introduced several basic diffraction integral theories, secondly give the optical diffraction theory analysis of off-axis vortex, finally, build light path for conduct experiments, using CCD image capture and save the transmission images of off-axis vortex beams, Left order diffraction phase singularities was observed transmission rotated in clockwise direction with distance increases, the right side is counterclockwise, the rotational speed from fast to slow, then compared with the matlab simulation ideal result and found that the experimental results and theoretical simulation results are coincided.The chapter four:On the basis of the foregoing paper made a summary and expectation.
