This paper researches the positioning algorithm of navigation receiver and introducesthe basic function of the GPS receiver module, the internal structure of a receiver includesthe RF front-end processing module, the baseband digital signal processing module andnavigation operation module. It describes the accessing and correcting of the satelliteinformation before positioning, and emphasizes on the method of least squares andKalman filter in determining the position, velocity, time calculating.The least squaresstructure is relatively simple and makes the minimum residual sum of squares of all themeasured values, the less is relevant to results. Kalman filter method requires a suitablemotion model,to establish the corresponding state model and observation model, and getto the value of optimal estimation with updating the data, it consideres the filterconvergence rate and efficiency and stability. In order to achieve the positioning in twoways on hardware platform by C language, the initial positioning uses the least squaresmethod, and then locates the result of least squares method as the Kalman filterobservation, filtering the result of the least squares method to reduce the amount of noise.Kalman filter signal is unstable and the results of the deviation is too large. The leastsquares method is used to locate, then gets the optimal positioning results. To set up a testsystem for localization algorithm in static and dynamic tests, test data and positioningtrajectories are analyzed. The results show that the Kalman filter positioning accuracy isbetter than the traditional method of least squares, and the obtained positioning resultsvalue is more stable and accurate.
