With the development of modernization, geological exploration projects have beencarried out widely. Large numbers of geological exploration equipments have comeinto service, by replacing the use of traditional supervision models, such as manualsupervision, paper records and other traditional approaches. Instead, a blend of moderncomputer technologies, for example networking technology, geographic informationsystem technology, data mining and other methods, they assemble into an informationsupervision platform for geological projects. Central Geological Exploration FundSystem is such an information system for the new generation, meeting the oversight ofland and resource. Research and the development of the supervision platform canprovide great convenience for conduct the geological projects dynamically, and itwould be a helpful tool for the experts do decision-making, including management andconduction.The Analytic Hierarchy Process is a decision-making algorithm which has beenused widely. By using the analytic hierarchy process in geological information systemcould be beneficial to provide a scientific basis for decision makers, as the projectssupervising officers, even it can provides independent decisions to the people byhandling the data which has been stored in the database.But also the AHP has its limitation, this method does not take the fuzziness ofhuman thinking into account. This could have a great influence on the decision result.Thus, the fuzzy AHP method comes into our mind. Combine the fuzzy concept into theAHP, and use it into the evaluation of the Central Geological Projects, would enhancethe rationality and reliability of the results of assessments.In this paper, the Central Geological Exploration Fund System is the backgroundof the application, AHP is used as the main content to discuss, fuzzy method works as the point, theories and applications are provided in the following parts. The maincontent includes:1)Analyzes the basic principles of the ahp method and fuzzy ahp method; analyzeand describe the process of the matrix issues and the consistency judgement,present the methods to solve the consistency problems.2)Research main algorithms in fuzzy ahp method, and analyze the differencebetween them, especially showing the algorithm for ranking vectors, supplying thesorting method based on triangle fuzzy numbers.3)Apply the fuzzy ahp method into the geological projects management system,especially the decision-making module, and show the difference of the two approachesin the information system.
