The upwelling flow caused by air bubblers is applied into marine ecologicalenvironment and ice control in ports and rivers. It’s a gas-liquid two-phase flow and ithas the characteristics of the complicated rules and many influencing factors. But fewstudies about upwelling flow are found and the existing analytical model is notinvolved in effect of wall on it. So this paper’s motivations are to study effect of wallon upwelling flow and to modify the empirical equation with experimental data.Numerical simulation is a simple and effective analysis method, which cansimulate the flow field and guide the experiments. On the other hand, the simulationresults are verified by the experimental data. So these two methods can be combinedto analyze practical problems.So this paper is divided into the following six parts: in chapter1, according to amass of literatures at home and abroad, the research status of air–lift technique underwater is presented; in chapter2, the experimental devices and measurement methodsare introduced in detail; in chapter3, based on the experimental data, effect of wall onupwelling flow is analyzed and the empirical equation is modified; in chapter4, thetheoretical knowledge, applications and influencing factors about gas-liquidtwo-phase flow are presented in detail; in chapter5, the numerical simulation methodis introduced and the upwelling flow is clearly analyzed by simulation results; inchapter6, all works are summarized and the innovations and shortcomings arepresented.
