In this study, the genetic diversity, mating system, pollen flow and seed flow of Sonneratia apetala which is in Jiulong River Estuary of Fujian were analyzed by using microsatellite molecular markers. The results were as follows:1.The number of alleles per locus was from3to8, and the total polymorphic alleles in9loci was44which per locus had4.9alleles on average. The CERVUS software could assign49the real paternity for its progenies with95%CL.2.The average effective pollen dispersal distance of Haicang Sonneratia apetala population was30.73m, but Fugong Sonneratia apetala population was50.41m.3. The mean Shannon’s Information index (I) of Haicang Sonneratia apetala population was0.7773, but it was0.7319in Fugong Sonneratia apetala population. The coefficient of genetic differentiation was0.3414on average and the majority of genetic variation occured within popolations.4. The mean Shannon’s Information index (I) of offspring population in the Sonneratia apetala was0.7064. The coefficient of genetic differentiation was0.2269on average and the majority of genetic variation occured within Families.5. The CERVUS software could assign real paternity for8seedlings of Sonneratia apetala which spread freely with95%CL6. According to the distance between seedlings and mother trees, the dispersal distance of seeds of Sonneratia apetala ranged from73.2m to191.1m. The average dispersal distance is126.1m. It shows that seeds of Fugong Sonneratia apetala population have strong dispersal ability.7. Analysying the mating system of Haicang and Fugong Sonneratia apetala populations, the mean multi-locus outcrossing rate (tm) was0.956±0.100and the mean single-locus outcrossing rate (ts) was0.875±0.085. The inbreeding index (tm-ts) was0.081. It shows that Sonneratia apetala has strong outcrossing rate.In summary, this study revealed that the Sonneratia apetala population in Jiulong River Estuary of Fujian has high level of the genetic diversity, high gene flow and strong outcrossing rate. It also shows that seeds of Sonneratia apetala in Fugong have strong dispersal ability. It is expected to supply theory basis for its reasonable management mode and ecological risk assessment.
