Magnetic prospecting is a primary method of geological exploration. Magneticprospecting is geophysical prospecting methods which study the distribution of thegeological structure and mineral resources through observation and analysis of therock magnetic differences caused by the magnetic anomaly. Generally the magneticprospecting can be divided into the ground, well in, Marine, aviation and spacemagnetic measurements. Among these aspects, the aeromagnetic gradient tensormeasurement technology is a hot topic to study at home and abroad in recent years.Compared with the traditional magnetic field measurement technology, magneticgradient tensor measurement has many obvious advantages, for example it has highresolution on magnetic anomaly, further details and characteristics of the source canbe found out, and generally immune from daily change and the influence of suchfactors as normal field, etc. In the development process about magnetic gradienttensor measurement system, reasonable and precise calibration technology canprovide performance and credibility of the sensor. Simultaneously, wild largeabnormal analog device is the foundation of flight experiment device, which canprovide a standard magnetic anomaly detection to fly probe in the wild, and detectmagnetic gradient measurement system performance. All these need standardmagnetic gradient field source generator to guarantee the testing and calibration.In this paper, according to the research requirement of the magnetic gradienttensor measuring system, we choose the coil device as a source of magnetic gradientfield generator. Due to the coil magnetic field calculation is complicated, whichcouldn’t react the distribution of magnetic field intuitively, so the finite elementanalysis software COMSOL Multiphysics is used to simulation and analyze the coilmodel parameters in the research process. With regard to outdoor large abnormalsimulator that is magnetic field gradient generator, we research the space distributionof the artificial magnetic field to ascertain distribution of magnetic field with different coil or wire frame parameters, providing reference data for the design of magneticfield simulator. For indoor magnetic gradient generator, the reasonable analysismethod should firstly been determined, and the device physics model is determined.Then the simulation about different model parameters is conducted to ascertain theposition of the three-dimensional space magnetic field and magnetic gradientinformation parameters, In the end, a high uniformity of magnetic gradient fieldgenerator model is designed.
