This study is based on QianZhangChang railway line selection decision work. The purpose of this study is to establish a karst area rail line decision mode with broader applicability and strong relevance of the engineering project that could be applied to the other projects in Southwest, Central South mountain areas. This research describes the preparation of its analysis of the database, implementation steps of the decision-making process and as well as lays foundation to a further line selection decision research and line selection analysis. In this paper, the main research contents and results are as follows:(1) Analysis program constituency karst development features, combine the theory and methods in karst area comprehensive evaluation of railway line, according to scheme comparison comprehensive evaluation system, selected applicable GIS software, and designed to develop the required databases basic elements and attribute information of GIS elated analysis;(2) Combine evaluation system index contents of the specified, organize and edit an existing line CAD data and tabular information, through ArcGIS related conversion, editing tools, complete the conversion of CAD data to GIS conversion, and fix the distortion errors problem after conversion, and the same time importing the necessary property data for elements, further establish required TIN and DEM files when analysis through converted data, thus complete the establishment of geographic information database.(3) Demonstrate the use of correlation analysis statistical tools of ArcGIS, get the basic steps required to decision parameters and summarize the main points of the analysis. Through VB development tools provided by ArcGIS, work out amazing emulation calculation tools for programs and achieve full specified method operation of ArcGIS interface. Through custom features of ArcGIS, Formulate and obtain a analysis and operation work environment for karst area railway route selection, and save your settings as a template.(4) Use the database established, combine ArcGIS distance analysis tools, set each factor cost index and the role affected area and establish the cost of grid in line selection area, thus analyze and obtain a best route plan in cost. Through the demonstration of the method step, conduct a feasibility inquiry for ArcGIS auxiliary functions in the route pre-design phase.
