Adaptive Optics was a synthesis disciplines that correct the wavefront distortion in a real time. SPGD AO is a emerging closed-control system, this algorithm compared with the traditional optimization algorithm has the advantages of fast convergence. SPGD algorithm was possible used to real-time system in the future. In this paper, analyzes the impact of atmospheric turbulence to space optical communication and summarizes the development process of adaptive optics, deduced the iterative formula of SPGD algorithm. Analysis the convergence of the SPGD algorithm and the main factors that affecting the rate of convergence. Finally, use the Zernike polynomials simulated the atmospheric turbulence distorted wavefront and correct it by SPGD AO system. The result shows:the gain coefficient and perturbation is greater, the rate of convergence is faster, the stability in the latter part and correction accuracy is worse and vice versa. The SPGD AO system to wavefront distortion having a good correction effect. With the SPGD algorithm convergence speed is increasing, the ability of the real-time responsiveness of the system will improve greatly.
