Ionosphere Scintillation is the temporal fluctuation in signal amplitude and phase when the signal travels through ionosphere, which is caused by the electron density fluctuation in the ionosphere and largely depends on local time, solar activity and so on. Since Ionosphere Scintillation may make the satellite signal receiver lose lock, it has become the highlight of space science and aerospace technology, especially for global positioning system (GPS).A new method is presented that provides a solution to Ionosphere Scintillation Model and allows for calculation of the signal after propagation through a turbulent ionized ionosphere medium in this thesis. The combination method of the theoretical research, modeling simulation and the results observed is employed in the course of research and then the modeling simulation results and the actual observed data are compared in order to demonstrate the correctness of the simulation model.First, an overall review of development history at home and abroad of Ionosphere Scintillation research is detailed in Chapter1. Some special characters of Ionosphere, Ionosphere Scintillation and the reasons that lead to the ionosphere scintillation are given in Chapter2.Second, Based on the latest research of Ionosphere Scintillation, wave propagation theory in Ionosphere, Ionosphere Scintillation theory and Ionosphere Scintillation Model are studied in this thesis. A new Ionosphere Scintillation Simulation Algorithm based on wide-angle parabolic equation approximation is deduced, which expends the application of the parabolic equation approximation. An analytic Ionosphere Scintillation Model with both clear physical meaning and convenient application is presented in Chapter3.In addition, the relationships between Ionosphere Scintillation and signal frequency, solar flux, electronic density and so forth have been discussed detailedly in Chapter4. Parameters that affects the amplitude scintillation and phase scintillation have been studied by the new Ionosphere Scintillation Model. The simulation results are compared respectively in figure by changing one parameter. Then, by comparison with some actual observation data and the simulation results, the reliability and validity of the Ionosphere Scintillation Model have been verified. Finally, for the convenience of the users, a Simulation Software with friendly, convenient interface has been developed. The interface and functions of the Simulation Software have been showed in Chapter5.
