Static correction is an important step in seismic data processing to obtain accurate information of the underground structure in coal mine area. Recently, with the skill-improvement of the exploration in coal mine in plain area, the work areas of seismic exploration gradually turn to the areas which have complex terrain and complex seismic geological conditions in near surface. In the mountains, it has complex terrain and strongly elevation change; the lithology change is strongly in surface, low seismic velocity zone is variable, and the seismic velocity changes is quickly along longitudinal and transverse. In Loess area, thick loess layer is impacted the quality of seismic data acquisition. At the same time, there is difference of seismic wave velocity in drying loose layer and dense layer of loess, it makes hard to be consistent for exciting and receiving conditions. The features above in the mountains and loess area make some difficulties for carrying out seismic acquisition, data processing and interpretation.It discusses the common problems in application of seismic static methods during the processing of seismic data in complex conditions of near surface in coal mine area, in the paper. Firstly, the refraction static correction technique is applied to the test parameters of the argument, and it shows effective by examples, and the method is beneficial to the optimization of acquisition parameters; secondly, by using2D modeling, obtains the features of field static correction and spatial correction, and explain that the field static correction could improve the source gather and stacking profile by examples. Finally, it gives the conclusion of application of static correction method in complex surface conditions in coal area, and put forward some advice:(1) The refraction static correction method was applied to the determination of the acquisition parameters, which is a new idea in loess tableland or complex mountainous area, and it needs to be perfected further application in practice.(2) In the coal mining area, near-surface seismic geological condition is complex, so near-surface velocity survey is extremely important work, we need to get enough attention in practice.
