Magnetotelluric sounding data used in this thesis were collected in Huainan-Liyang MT profile. with data processing and interpretation techniques, we obtain a reliable lithosphere electrical structure of this MT profile. with previous geological research, a further study and discussion about the main geological units and fault zones in Huainan-Liyang profile was proposed in this paper.Firstly, we reviewed the research status of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River region. Then, an introduction about the basic theory of magnetotelluric sounding, qualitative analysis and continuous medium inversion. Qualitative analysis and interpretation of the MT data is one of the focal point of this article. Therefore, it focuses on the interpretation parameters and its physical meaning of the MT data qualitative interpretation, and then make an intensive study of the the tipper data characteristics and variation with synthetical model. moreover, an analysis about the influence of cut off frequency and the length of profile on the inversion result was carried out, All of those provide a theoretical support for the cross-sectional analysis of the measured data and inversion.After that, we discussed the geology of Huainan-Liyang profile, the field data collection methods and data quality measures, and combining with the data processing method evaluate MT data quality of Huainan-Liyang profile. Afterwards, through analyzing of the sounding curve type, proposed sectional view, Skewnesss, Mohr circle and Impedance tensor polarization, we provide a qualitative analysis and interpretation of the Huainan-Liyang profile data, which can help us understand the electrical characteristics along the main geological units, and lay the foundation of the quantitative interpretation of the Huainan-Liyang profile.Finally, by the continuous medium inversion joint inversion, we obtained the two-dimensional electrical structure of the profile. With consideration qualitative analysis and geological background of the profile, The profile main geological units and trunk fault zone has been divided and interpretation.51pictures,2sheets,116references.
