Development Use And Potential Evaluation Of The Thermal Reservoir Characteristics And Geothermal Resources Of Geothermal Field In Weiyuan Town, Qinghai Province

Weiyuan geothermal field is located in Weiyuan Town, Huzhu County, QinghaiProvince. Regionally, it’s in the east of Qilian uplift of the fold system of QilianMountains. The main body of the geothermal field is in Shuangshu Sag, which is in thenortheast of Xining Fault Basin. The geothermal field developed in Weiyuan secondarysag zone of Shuangshu Sag. The thermal conditions are controlled by NE-SW-trendingand SN-trending fault zone, which are of changing mechanical property and poly-stageactivity. Thereof, the SN-trending shear fault zone which is active currently is thedominant structure, water channel and high geothermal gradient region; and theNE-trending fault zone formed a topical heat-isolation and water-isolation structure.Therefore, a relatively independent geothermal water-affluent area in the town of Weiyuancame into being.The preliminary identified geothermal field in Weiyuan Town extends in anorth-south ward direction. It is4km to6km wide and4km to7km long. The minablepart of geothermal water is27.23km2. The thermal reservoir has two layers, namelyCretaceous reservoir and Jurassic reservoir, of which the burial depth of the top is785mand the burial depth of the base is1885m. The thickness of thermal reservoir is controlledto be362.45m, and the temperature its is43.2~73℃. The average temperature is62℃. Itis obvious that the geothermal temperature rises gradually with the increase of the depth.The geothermal field, contain with rich water, is a middle-sized low temperaturegeothermal field.On the basis of the collection of materials of geology, geophysical prospecting andhydrology in Huzhu County, this essay mainly analyzed the thermal reservoir conditions,boundary characteristics and Geothermal field characteristics of the geothermal field inWeiyuan Town, Huzhu County. Under analyzing the data of DR2010geothermal drillingand pumping test, and through the method of thermal reservoir and hydrochemistry, Usethe geothermal resources the quality and utilizing potentiality of the geothermal field wereevaluated, and many issues were discussed including the development and utilization offixed number of year, the coal that can be saved, and the environmental and geologicalissues. The results shall provide evidence for further exploration, development andplanning of the geothermal field in Weiyuan Town.
