Magnetic polymer composite microspheres are combined with inorganic magneticparticle and organic polymer materials through a certain way. They not only has theexcellent magnetic property of inorganic magnetic particles, but also have the function oforganic polymer materials, such as functional group properties and biocompatibility. Thenwe can link different kinds of abundant active functional groups into the surface ofmagnetic microspheres. Because above advantage, they have very important applicationprospect in biotechnology and biomedical fields, such as cell separation, targeted drug,immobilized enzyme and immune detection.In this study, we prepared magnetic polymer composite microspheres, which havemany shell structure, by improved dispersion polymerization. Then we connected–NH2groups successfully on its surface by the way of surface modification, at the same time,using PEG solution to change–NH2into–COOH, made the surface of magneticmicrospheres realized carboxylation. In our experiment process, optical microscopy andscanning electron microscopy (SEM) are used to observe morphology and size distributioncharacteristics of microspheres; Thermal gravity analysis (TGA) is used to measure thecomponent content and hot stability of microspheres; Vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM) is used to measure the magnetic property of microspheres; Fourier transforminfrared spectrometer (FTIR) and conductometric titration are used to analyze thecomposition and content of functional group (-NH2,-COOH),which are on the surface ofmicrospheres.
