A Study On The Data Processing Methods Of Ocean Bottom Seismograph (OBS)

As human’s energy demand is growing wider, the exploration and development of marinegas hydrates has caused great concern to the world. In recent years, the OBS (ocean bottomseismograph) seismic exploration technique has rapid developed and improved in the marinegas hydrates ’exploration. But in terms of OBS data processing, because of OBS’s uniquelayout form, we have not formed the commercial data processing software. Therefore, weshould strengthen the OBS date processing method and form the OBS data processing systemwith independent intellectual property which has become an important goal in the marineseismic exploration nowadays. It is of great importance to instruct the exploration anddevelopment of natural gas resources in our country.Because of the special observation system of OBS, we need to study some specialprocessing method for OBS data processing. This paper introduces simply the basic steps ofOBS data processing. It also discusses and researches mainly the secondary positioning, thevelocity analysis and the migration imaging in the OBS data processing. In the aspect of OBSsecondary positioning, it proposes the OBS hybrid positioning method combining of the threepoint positioning method, the least squares method and the search method, which has solvedthe problem that the positioning is not the only in the OBS secondary positioning andimproved the accuracy of positioning. In the aspect of velocity analysis, it infers the formulafor calculating the reflected wave travelling time of OBS data and comes up with a newvelocity analysis method based on OBS data. In the aspect of migration imaging, Kirchhoffprestack time migration method is applied to the OBS data, it also discusses the migrationaperture problem in the migration imaging of OBS date. The theory model test show thatthese processing methods of OBS date can obtain a good processing effect.This paper identifies the wave information of OBS data and analysis the character, itapplies these new processing steps and methods to the actual processing of OBS data.
