Due to the exploration and development of a hurge number of oil-gas in Songliao Basin, the recoverable reserves has dwindled and for this reason, the exploration in the SongliaoBasin periphery will have a great significance. In order to further strengthen the energyinfrastructure geological survey, China Geological Survey Bureau determined the SongliaoBasin investigation and assessment of peripheral targets as one of the energy investigationtargets. There has already been six prospect zones confirmed in the periphery of SongliaoBasin. Linxi Balinzuo basin is one of the western Songliao Basins, which has some Paleozoicstrata potentially abundant in oil and gas accumulation.Years of exploration experience tells us that both old and new methods can be applied innew and old area in detecting oil-gas field. But the application of an old method can hardlysucceed in discovering new oil-gas field. Therefore, for the sake of new discover of oil andgas fields,we must innovate constantly in geological theory, exploration strategy andtechnically.Depending on the project " Regional geochemical field of oil and gas analysis ", thispaper trys to make a breakthrough in oil-gas exploration and geochemical research in LinxiBalinzuo with a interdisciplinary research methods and applying inorganic geochemistrymethod in organic minerals resources study. Through an analysis of areal geology and crustalstructure, mineral’s geochemistry characteristics, arrangement of geochemical work on theadvanced oil-gas area, classification and evaluation of geochemical anomalies, ultimatelyfind the target area and locate engineering hydrocarbon occurrence section that could bevalidated afterwards. Based on Linxi-Balinzuo geochemistry of oil and gas exploration areaachieved the following results:1, The main work area outcropping strata: Amu Hill Formation (C2a), Lower PermianDashizhai (P1ds), Zhesi group (P1zs), Upper Permian Linxi (P2l), Jurassic Xinmin Jurassic inthe system group (J2x), Jurassic system on full gram head Obo group (J3m), Manitu group(J3mn), white pitch the old group (J3b), Quaternary aeolian (Qheol), alluvial (Qhapl), eluvial(Qhdel).2, The main work area exposed magmatic rocks: intrusive rocks outcropping mainlydiorite (Jδ), quartz diorite (Jδο), fine-grained porphyritic granite (Kγ), granodiorite andpotassium feldspar granite (Kξπ). Workspace area exposed major faults are: fault structure isdeveloped, there are major faults on Mo Hu ditch-three mountain faults Sandaogou-threemountains south piedmont faults and fault etc. obo. 3, Discovered a hydrocarbon dew point. The next village west Ishimura boxwooddepression group (nearly NS) west ditch. Groove wall unit with30-40cm of loess andQuaternary eluvial material, broken down as more intense sandstone. Sandstone surface color, mostly brown, local area surface was black, black slightly dirty hands, as oil and gas shows.Description workspace possible oil accumulation.4, There may be hydrocarbon traps workspace area. The use of trace elements in theformation of abnormal ring features that can delineate potential reservoirs regional location orrange. The use of trace element ratios can delineate areas of potential hydrocarbon reservoirslocation or range, indicating medium oxygen conditions, suggesting that the causes of oil andgas. Geochemical field of this preliminary study shows that there may be hydrocarbon traps inthe workspace area.Test results on the advanced oil-gas zone that predicted with element geochemistryfissures during eleventh five-year plan showed that: hydrocarbons and low-temperatureelements reflects high background area and the annular ring anomaly zone delineated inelement geochemistry study, low-value segment comparatively between peak value reflectsdelineated in the element geochemistry study low-background area, and initially verified theavailability applying elemental geochemical studies into prediction of hydrocarbonaccumulation. In Linxi-Balinzuo area, geochemical studies have shown that there is apotential in new oil-gas occurrence and should further intensify strength in finding oil andgas.
