For researching the corrosion property of marine materials, imitation testapparatus of dynamical rotor accelerated corrosion was designed. For choosing anappropriate electromotor when designed the apparatus, resistance of rotor rotating influid must be researched for confirming the torque and the power of the motor required.Resistance of cylindrical rotor rotating in fluid was comprehensive researched bytheoretical calculation, test verification and simulation analysis. Firstly, fluid frictionresistance of cylindrical rotor was analyzed, based on boundary layer theory, dimension analysis method and Prandtl-Schlichting formula. Calculation formulas ofthe rotor resistance moment and unit area friction resistance were obtained. Then, fluidfriction resistance test device of cylindrical rotor was designed. Undeterminedcoefficients in the formulas were obtained by least square method curve fitting withthe resistance moment data of the test, and relatively accurate resistance momentcalculation formula was received. The formula calculation results agreed well with allthe cylindrical rotor test data with different diameters, different thicknesses anddifferent rotate speed. So that, the theoretical calculation method proposed here isfeasible. In addition, the resistance moment of the rotor is proportional to the square ofthe rotate speed, has linear relationships with the thickness and is proportional to thequartic of the diameter. Finally, by using of the Fluent module in Ansys Workbench14.0, external flow fields of the rotors were simulated and analyzed.Theoretical basis was provided for designing the revolving erosion-corrosion testdevice, by analyzing the fluid friction resistance and calculating the moment ofcylindrical rotor rotating in fluid. Test data of20cylindrical rotors and6Non-cylindrical rotor with different rotate speed was got and provided experimental basisfor more fluid mechanics research. Relatively accurate formulas for computing theresistance and moment of the rotor were got and friction resistance theories of fluidmechanics were verified, supplemented and developed.
