Scaling and metal corrosion ofen occur in circulating cooling water of power plant,causing the loss of equipment operation efficiency, shortening service life. For the scalingand corrosion problems, the effective treatment method is scale and corrosion inhibitor.With the development of water treatment agent and the concept of green chemistry, higheffective compound water treatment agent is the future development trend. Based on theabove ideas, a new-type scale and corrosion inhibitor–HA/P(AM/SAS) were synthesized,whichwere the blends of humic acid and sulfonic acid copolymer.The humic acid (HA) have a series of advantages of extensive sources, environmentalprotection, favorable scale inhibition and corrosion performance, so this paper chose humicacid as raw material. The scale inhibition performance of humic acid was evaluated bymeans of the static scale inhibition method, the experimental results showed that humicacid had a certain prevention performance for CaCO3and Ca3(PO4)2; The corrosioninhibition performance was evaluated by means of rotary coupon method, the experimentalresults showed that humic acid had good corrosion performance in the case of the pre-film.In order to improve the scale and corrosion inhibition performance of humic acid, thispaper made use of humic acid to compound with sulfonic acid copolymer, which was akind of scale inhibitor dispersion agent.Sulfonic acid copolymer P(AM/SAS) was synthesized by means of solutionpolymerization reaction with water as solvent, potassium persulfate as initiator,acrylamide (AM) and sodium allylsulfonate (SAS) as the monomers. The copolymer’sinherent viscosity which is the characterization of the size of molecular weight wasmeasured by ubbelohde viscometer. Single factor analysis method was used to study theeffect of monomers ratio, dosage of initiator, copolymerization time and copolymerizationtemperature on copolymer’s scale inhibition performance. Then polymerization’s optimalconditions and the effect order of these factors on scale inhibition performance weredetermined by orthogonal experiment, finally the P(AM/SAS) with optimum scaleinhibition and dispersion performance was obtained.The blends of HA and P(AM/SAS) were compounded by means of solution blend,geting composite water treatment agent HA/P(AM/SAS), their scale and corrosion inhibition performance were studied in this paper, then this paper made a comparison ofperformance among P(AM/SAS), HA and the two blends. The experimental resultsshowed that scale and corrosion inhibition performance of the two blends of P(AM/SAS)were better than the single component. The blends of HA and P(AM/SAS) had favorablecompatibility and synergistic effect, so the formula’s scale and corrosion inhibitionperformance were superior to the single component.
