Ground motion power spectrum has been playing a very important role in the whole fieldof earthquake engineering. The ground motion power spectral model can describe the processof frequency domain distribution in the earthquake ground motion energy, and is an importantpart of the stochastic model of the ground motion. If adequate ground motion data can beobtained, you can directly use statistical analysis to establish stochastic model of earthquakeground motion, but unfortunately, up to now, the strong ground motion acceleration recordsinformation is limited, therefore, you have to assume model form. In the field of earthquakeengineering, although various models have been proposed, these models have someshortcomings. It is necessary to deeply study on the seismic spectral model.First of all, the research status of seismic ground power spectrum model were sorted outin this paper, some seismic ground power spectrum models were concluded, and the currentmodels were made a comparative analysis according to the evaluation criterion of powerspectrum model.Secondly, the new models variance formula in single degree of freedom system wasproposed and developed considering the shortcoming of Peng Lingyun model. The modifiedPeng Lingyun model and Peng Lingyun model were analyzed from three aspects usingMatlab program to verify the advantages of Peng Lingyun model.Finally,100actual recorded seismic waves of Ⅱ site were collected and adjustedaccording to8degrees earthquake. Then the adjusted seismic waves have been transformed inFourier, spectrum picture was obtained and spectrum analysis was done. At the same time,using the Matlab software and minimum square method, the averaged power spectral curvesare fitted, and the parameter values of the modified Peng Lingyun model were determined.The analysis results showed that the new model describe the process of ground accelerationmore reasonably and reflect the real ground motion more accurately.
