With the improvement of seismic exploration degree and the addition of exploration areacomplication, usually, the collected data is submerged in a relatively strong noise backgroundwhich covered up the useful information, it brings inconvenience to the subsequentinterpretation of seismic data and the judgement of oil and gas reservoir in the target area. Sothe denoising of seismic data becomes an important link of seismic data processing. the basictheory of contourlet transform and wavelet transform is studied in this paper, which areapplied in the processing of seismic exploration data denoising.After appearing the multiscale geometric analysis theory, as one of representativetransform analysis tools, Contourlet transform is applied in the filed of image denoising. It isa multi-resolution, local and multi-directional method of image representation, whichovercomes some limitations of the wavelet transform, it has multi-resolution andmulti-direction features. Firstly, the research background, significance and current researchstatus of seismic data denoising technology at home and abroad are introduced in this paper,which draws contourlet transform, then it emphatically expounds the basic theory ofcontourlet transform and its related theoretical basis. finally it analyses the wavelet thresholddenoising method, wavelet threshold with recursive cycle-spinning denoising method,contourlet threshold denoising method and contourlet threshold with recursive cycle-spinningdenoising method, which are applied in the processing of seismic exploration data denoising,and achieves good results.Simulated experiments demonstrate that the denoising method based on contourlettransform has a good effect in the image denoising, in which can denoise effectively and keepthe effective image information, it has certain feasibility, effectiveness and good applicationprospect.
