With the persistent development of national economy and construction andrisen of regional industry, requirements of mineral resources are increased day byday. At the same time, ecological damage and environmental geological problemscreated by large-scale exploitation of the mine is increasingly serious and is paidwide close attention by people. Following the significant measure that Chaohu Lakeis put under Hefei’s administration, the local position in the future is makingChaohu Lake become a eco-tourism scenic spot. And this plan has been added intoa series of projects about development and construction. The mountain area innorthern Chaohu Lake as the key area of eco-demonstration plot surroundingChaohu Lake, with beautiful sceneries of landscape and vauclusian spring, has beenseriously puzzled by mining crazily and disorderly. It leads to grave consequencesfor residents’ production and life. As a result, the geo-environment issues ofmountain areas in northern Chaohu Lake are solved urgently. On the basis of collecting and summarizing systematically a large number ofinformation about local geology, hydrology, environment and so forth, this researchlaunches the detailed field investigation as to geology, mine exploitation andgeo-environment and ascertains the geological background, current situation ofmining and types of geological disasters. Based on this background, this papermakes sure3hierarchies and8factors in the evaluation system of mininggeo-environment by means of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Under thesupport of Geographic Information System (GIS), this paper takes advantages ofArcGIS and ERDAS to extract and process data of factors, according to basic datacollected. Each factor is separated into partitions by way of spatial analysis in GIS.Furthermore, it gets4categories of zones with different damages ofgeo-environments through geoprocessing analysis. The area of the most seriousdamage is smaller relatively and distributed on the south-western side ofPingdingshan Mountain and north-western side of Qilinshan Mountain. The densestzones are spread to north-western side of Dajiashan Mountain. In the meantime, this paper makes a preliminary design in regard to the WebGIS of the geologicalenvironments of mine in the research area and provides more effective techniquemeasures for managing eco-environmental information and dissolving geological environments issues. The above results provide conveniences and references foranalyzing and researching the geo-environment issues of this area.
