Iron toxicity is a major limiting factor for rice production in paddy field of southern China.Based on the degree of iron toxicity and the tolerance of rice varieties, iron toxicity can result in12%-100%of reduction of rice yield,seriously affected the rice yield and stability.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out a series of studies on cultivar selection and the mechanism of iron toxicity tolerance and prevention measures.This study researched the effect of iron toxicity on mineral elements,physiological and ecological mechanisms and the expression of iron absorption gene in roots, according to preliminary results, carried out the study of regulation what manganese relieve iron toxicity by hydroponics.1.Through iron treatment to5pairs reported previously iron toxicity tolerance significant difference indica material, the result shows that P, Mn, Zn, and other mineral elements in the rice varieties seriously lacked and destroyed the nutrient balance, nutritional deficiencies is important mechanism of iron toxicity.2. Through different levels iron and manganese treatment to iron toxicity tolerant differences significant Zhenshan97b (tolerance) and Miyang46(sensitive),the result shows that manganese can relieve iron toxicity.3. Through analysis of the expression of iron absorption gene in roots of different levels iron and manganese treatment to iron toxicity tolerant differences significant Zhenshan97b (tolerance) and Miyang46(sensitive), the result shows that explored the absorption dynamic relationship of Fe2+and Fe3+in rice roots,roots absort Fe in form of Fe2+.It was concluded that mineral nutrition lack is an important mechanism of iron toxicity and apply manganese can relieve the iron toxicity.Initial explored the iron absorption mechanism of rice roots,mainly absorbed by Fe2+form, that is of great significance to improve the rice yield.
