Since the21st century, with the rapid development of social economic, peopleare increasingly concerned about the development and utilization of marine resources.In recent years, the underwater optical imaging techniques are widely used in thedetection of marine information, and recovery of the probe targets’ color is animportant task for underwater operations.The spread of light in water means that the spectrum distribution will changeaccordingly, such as absorption or scattering, so that the target image acquisition bythe camera will appear color distortion which directly affects the quality of the imageand value in use. Therefore, establishing a way to eliminate the distortion to restorethe original colors of the image is a key link in the underwater optical imaging.Through consulting literature materials, we believe that there are many aspects oflimitations in existing methods that do not completely solve the problem.In order to solve this problem, this paper establishes a comprehensive system ofcolor recovery model by integrating existing resources and relying on the radiativetransfer equation. Study the energy attenuation of light propagation in the water by theradiative transfer equation. Choose the standard color plate as the research target andextract the RGB image information. Establish the relational model of the RGBdifference and energy attenuation of research objectives to achieve the purposes ofunderwater target color restoration.At the beginning of this paper, the paper introduces the development and thestatus of the image color restoration technology. Secondly distribute the underwaterlight field and the application of radiative transfer equation in the energy attenuation.Then carry out a detailed introduction of digital image processing in the model.Finally, do the experiments specifically to verify the feasibility of the method andestablish the space mapping model of image RGB information and energy attenuation to achieve the color restoration of underwater targets.
