Sandy intertidal zones were seasonally investigated for meiofauna abundance, biomass and group compositon in April, July and October2011, and January2012inQingdao Yangkou Swim Beach, NO.1Swim Beach and NO.3Swim Beach. The meanMD of sediment of investigated beach t is1.50. The MD of NO.3swim beach (1.67)is greater than NO.1swim beach (1.43), and the lowest MD is1.39in Yangkou swimbeach. The mean QD is0.56and the highest QD is0.68in NO.1swim beach. TheMD of Yangkou swim beach (0.53) is greater than NO.3swim beach (0.37). TheChl-a of Qingdao sandy beach is1.35mg/kg, The Chl-a of NO.1swim beach(1.40mg/kg) is greater than NO.3swim beach (1.34mg/kg), and the lowest Chl-a is1.30mg/kg of Yangkou swim beach. The highest Chl-a is in spring (1.24mg/kg) andthe lowest is in summer (0.85mg/kg). The Chl-a in autumn is greater than winter. Themean organic fertilizer is0.0166%and it is greater in NO.1swim beach than NO.3swim beach. The lowest organic fertilizer is0.0174%in Yangkou swim beach. Thehighest organic fertilizer is0.0232%in autumn and the lowest is0.015%in Spring. The high organic fertilizer in winter (0.0212%) is greater than summer (0.0174%).Eighteen meiofauna biological groups are identified, including Nematode,Copepoda, Larval plankton, Rotifera, Tardigrada, Turbellarian, Ostracoda,Gastrotricha, Nemertea, Polychaetes, Amphipoda, Isopoda, Priapulida, Cumacea,Halacarida, Bivalvia, Hydrozoans, Insect. Average abundance of total meiofaunain the year is2339±1146ind.10cm-2, and the average abundance of Nematode is1967±1017ind.10cm-2. The average abundance of NO.3swim beach (3561±1854ind.cm-2) is higher than NO.1swim beach(2484.97±1344.46ind.cm-2), and thelowest abundance is1777.51±1519.30ind.10cm-2in Yangkou swim beach. Theaverage biomass of total meiofauna of Qingdao sandy beach is2154.09±2203.14μg.dwt.10cm-2, and the average biomass of Yangkou swim beach (2333.34± 2947.44μg.dwt.10cm-2) is a little greater than NO.1swim beach(2251.09±1929.20μg.dwt.10cm-2), the lowest biomass is1877.83±1565.66μg.dwt.10cm-2inNO.3swim beach. The total abundance of meiofauna is significantly negatively correlated withdissolved oxygen, and significantly positively correlated with Chl-a and temperatureof interstitial water. The MD'QD is not significantly correlated withabundance of meiofauna and major biological groups. The groups of NO.1swimbeach and NO.3swim beach is approximate, far from Yangkou swim beach. N/C ofNO.3swim beach(840.77) is higher than NO.1swim beach, and the lowest N/C is18.47in Yangkou swim beach. The No.1and NO.3swim beach are organicallypolluted and the Yangkou swim beach is not organically polluted. The Yangkou swimbeach is bare of human disturbance, so it can be a contrasted sandy beach in laterexperiment about studying the effect of human disturbance to the meiofauna of sandybeach.Field simulation experiment in order to study stiring sand and addingEnteromorpha is conducted in the sandy intertidal beach near Qingdao Sculpturegarden from May13,2011to June4,2011. Twelve meiofauna groups are identified, with the abundance938.14±496.32ind.cm-2. The abundance of Nematoda is878.26±424.97ind.cm-2,94%of the meiofauna abundance. Stiring sand results inmeiofauna vertical migration, without change the abundance of meiofauna in0-20cmdepth. Laboratory simulating experiment studies the effect of single factor (addingEnteromorpha) to meiofauna. The quality of Enteromorpha is important factor tomeiofauna. The meiofauna decreases progressively with Enteromorpha increasingprogressively(0g、5g、10g、15g、20g、25g), as time goes by in two weeks.
