Resources and environment are the basic conditions for human survival and development.The ocean contains abundant resources. As the increasing shortage of land resources, thecoastal countries continue to strengthen research on the marine environment,pay more attentionto the development and utilize ocean—"Blue Territory", at the same time, the dispute on theownership of Islands becomes more and more fierce,especially China has territorial disputes onthe ownership of Islands with many other countries around the East China Sea and South ChinaSea.Hydro terrain as a basic environmental element of deep-sea environment geographicenvironmental, simulating and reproducing realistic for it, are the basic means and method forpeople to realize the environment under the sea. True reproduction of hydro terrain and mainfeatures of visual effects, are of great significance to research on marine environment, exploitmarine resources, protect the marine environment, construct marine engineering and carry outmaritime combat missions for human.The technology on the realistic visualization of hydro terrain3Dincludes two aspects: thevisualization of real terrain and the visualization of the true hydro environment effect. The thesisis based on the VC++6.0, through the use of OpenGL graphics library, constructed thethree-dimensional model of the hydro terrain, to realize the visualization of hydro terrainrealistic effect.It have analyzed the present research situation on3D hydro terrain, pointed out the presentproblems and shortcomings:①The research on the hydro terrain modeling method mostlyconcentrate on the organization and management of data, improve the algorithm ofinterpolation, but the research on the applicability of modeling method and the algorithm ofinterpolation for he hydro terrain is very little.②Less researches on real visualization effect ofthe hydro terrain.It have introduced the mainly construction method of the digital elevation model, throughthe comparison and analysis of hydro terrain grid DEM and DEM triangulated irregular networkperformance effect, method of constructing DEM using decision of hydro terrain grid.It have analyzed and compared the present common interpolation methods,considering thecharacteristics of discrete water depth data used in the thesis, I decided to adopt the eightdirection inverse distance weighted interpolation algorithm for constructing submarinetopography grid DEM. The thesis introduced and analyzed the OpenGL graphics library working principle andprocess, and based on the OpenGL, realized the3D visualization of terrain, and layering,light, light and shade, atomization and other realistic effects.It have designed a framework for the realistic3D visualization on the hydro terrain,completed the development of the system,realized the function of human-computer interactionand application.
