The process of sediment resuspension will be impacted by storms and other externaldisturbances sereously, which has become one of the hottest research focus. This paperresearches sediment resuspension under storms by combining field observations withsimulation experiment, which provides the basis for the research of phosphorus migrationmechanisms under different aquatic plants. This experiment chosed Phragmites australis andWater hyacinth as the dominant sepecies according to the actual situation of testing area, whichis Meiliang bay of Taihu Lake.We took sediment、water and aquatic plants, which collected fromdifferent testing points under different hydrodynamic,to be analysed. The results showed that the suspended solids concentration in water increased as thedisturbance time increased. In the area covered by aquatic plants, the rise of the suspendedsolids concentration as the disturbance time is lower than the area covered by noplants.Besides, with the increasing coverage of the aquatic plants, the concentration of suspendedsolids in water showed a trend of gradual decline. And the inhibitory effect on the resuspensionof solids of reeds is stronger than Eichhornia crassipes. In addition,in the area covered by no aquatic plants, the total phosphorus concentrationincreased with the increasing of external disturbance. In contrast,in he area covered by aquaticplants, the total phosphorus had variation present different characteristics and the changetrending with the changed of time was not obvious. The SRP, BAP without plants, have no relevant with shear stress and external disturbancestime. Compared with different forms of phosphorus concentration, overlying water the SRP isleast compared with TP and BAP.
