Since the21st century, along with the accelerating economic development andrapid population growth, land is becoming a more and more precious resource.Particularly, land use change research of fast urbanization areas become the presentforefront and hot spot. Remote sensing technology, with its macroscopical, fast, efficient, dynamic and effort-saving features, become one of the best methods toaccurately monitor the real-time status and change pattern of land use, analyze itsdriving force and essential reason, so as to provide important reference for theeffective protection and rational exploitation of land resource.Taking Shenzhen as the research area, this paper design a methodology to improveclassification accuracy based on the TM remote sensing image in2000and otherauxiliary data. According to the research in segmentation scale, object-orienteddecision tree nodes, indicators and thresholds. The overall classification accuracyachieves93%with this methodology. On this basis, change detection is proceededaccording to three remote sensing images in2000,2005and2010and classificationdata in2000. Compared with the vector similarity method, change vector analysismethod is easier in operation and higher in accuracy, therefore a better approach todynamically monitor the real-time land use change. Eventually the classificationaccuracy of2000,2005and2010all achieve over85%and meet the requirement ofland use change and driving force analysis. Based on the quantity change, distributionchange, land use dynamic index and land use degree extracted from land use data withthe classification and change detection methods above, this paper analysis thespatio-temporal land use change pattern of Shenzhen in2periods2000-2005and2005-2010.Then according to2000-2010Shenzhen Statistical Yearbooks, qualitatively analyze the resident population, economic growth and local policies’impacts on land use. The research indicates that from2000to2010, farmland, waterbody decreasing and residential land increasing are the main features of Shenzhen’sland use change. Population and GDP show significant positive correlation with residential land area, while showing negative correlation with farmland area. From thelocal policy perspective, the Opening to Outside World and Investment Attractionpolicies are the main driving force of resident population and residential land growth. This paper propose a set of feasible solutions from land use status chart to landuse change analysis methods, and meanwhile analyze the land use change pattern anddriving force of fast-developing Shenzhen in the last decade, to provide the latestinformation for the government with realistic significance.
