Terahertz wave is located between the microwave and infrared light waves in theelectromagnetic spectrum, terahertz technology has enormous potential for scientificresearch in the field of traditional Chinese medicine in China.Terahertz time-domainspectroscopy technique is a new kind of far-infrared the coherent spectroscopytechnology in recent years which has the rapid development. Because of the uniqueposition of terahertz waves, it has unique properties. Many organic macromoleculesvibration and rotational levels are in the terahertz band. This makes the THz detectiontechnology be able to identify and analyze the composition of the portion of theorganic molecules. Most drugs, which include western and traditional Chinesemedicine, basically composed by biological macromolecules, which makes terahertztechnology study the the drug part with medicinal properties as possible.In this research, based on the characteristics and the actual needs of terahertztechnology, the study include for the following aspects:1.Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy technology was used in traditional Chinesemedicine samples and experimental study of the spectral detection. Requirements forterahertz detection experiments, designed the the exclusive experimental devicerequired by the sample. Traditional Chinese medicine samples included five groups often kinds of Achyranthes Chuan Achyranthes; Zhejiang Fritillaria, Fritillaria;Astragalus, Astragalus Sunburn; Plantago, plantain; Salvia extract and salvianolic acidB by calculating the absorption coefficient and refractive index, found different kindsof traditional Chinese medicine because of where the origin, contained differentcompounds content, resulted in the absorption coefficient and refractive index thereare obvious differences, this proves terahertz spectroscopy to the identification oftraditional Chinese medicine and detection is feasible.2. Terahertz spectroscopy data processing method is complex with the large amount ofdata.In order to be able to convenient computing degrees, this study developed itsown the Chinese medicine terahertz spectroscopy data management system. Operationfrom the user point of view, considering the requirements analysis and designrequirements, and determine the overall design and planning of software. Matlabsoftware is used for the development of traditional Chinese medicine the terahertz spectroscopy data management system. Habits based on user actions, the maininterface and five menu bar down menu below to achieve the data acquisition, import,export, automatic operation, spectrum analysis of nearly20different functions.3. Characteristics of Chinese medicine samples designed Chinese medicine terahertzspectroscopy database module features convenient data archiving, read, delete, anddesign humanized operation interface, can achieve preliminary spectral data searchquery function.4. Detailed study of the current universal system clustering method and three differentsimilarity calculation methods, and write Matlab algorithm, the experimental dataobtained from the use of the software, can be achieved. The experiments show that, inthe after import new sample spectra, system clustering method can distinguishbetween different types of samples, prove that this method of terahertz spectroscopy isused to identify the medicine is feasible.With further research, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy in the pharmaceuticalfield gradually shows its potential.Terahertz spectral data of the research anddevelopment of traditional Chinese medicine software system fill the blank ofterahertz technology software technology in the field of traditional Chinese medicineand reduce the of terahertz spectroscopy complexity which achieve innovation.
