In human sociology history, most of the astonishing achievements are profoundly related to the process of urbanization, in which, however, there exist numerous problems to be inspected and solved. An incredibly rapid urbanization is now taking place in China. Together with the broadcast revolution raised by new-gen media, the urbanization has brought the topic of City and Communication upfront. In history, a delicate interrelationship sits between city and broadcast. On one hand, the city itself is a medium, providing a platform for people to broadcast, communicate and relate to each other. On the other hand, with the birth of new media such as the Internet, the virtual environment built by public media is more obvious in influencing the substantial city. As the science and technology have been improving fast, the media approaches have been altering from time to time, leading a change in our city space from traditional two-dimensional to three-dimensional. In the third dimension, the public media and city space is thoroughly mixed with each other that cannot be separated. They jointly form the body of urban broadcast, and make the modern city experience prone to broadcast with various forms. Nowadays, a great number of sociology scholars have expressed their interests in city and broadcast, in which a significant topic is the study in Urban Text.As a crucial vehicle of information and meaning in Urban Communication, Urban Text is worthy of studying and analysing. Under certain circumstances, the Urban text itself is the city. The reason is that in broadcasting "City is a picture of Chromosome, while the meaningfulness of text can never end." Either the Urban Space Text or the Urban Readable Vehicle Text, or the Urban Special Text brought by certain texts, is essential material and sample for us to study the Urban and Communication,.In old days, most studies of Urban text were carried on in disciplines such as urban sociology, urban economy and urban planning. While the types of Urban text in broadcast mainly include readable vehicle texts such as newspaper, television, advertisement, Internet and social network such as Twitter, the thesis is to analyse the broadcast theories of urban sociology and new-gen city broadcast under the view of city broadcasting, combining cutting-edge theories such as the ’Third space’ theory by Dr. Sawyer, and classic theories by Karl Marx, which will in turn to analyse and discuss the different types of urban text and set an adventurous sub category of urban text:Urban Special Text.In order to explain the uniqueness of the properties of Urban Special Text with its broadcast approach, a template picture of the broadcast of Urban Special Text t is provided in this thesis. With the example of Urban Text of Capital Museum and Chengdu Eastern Suburb Memory, as well as quantitative analysis approaches such as public survey and content analysis, the thesis will study the information broadcast of Chengdu Eastern Suburb Memory, which presents certain level of properties of Urban Special Text. Finally, suggestions, especially on the update of Urban Text, are also provided for this type of Urban Text to survive and thrive in the summary and conclusion.
