In recent years, with the development of economy, the income gap between urban and rural residents more and more, brings the inequitable distribution of wealth, the insufficient domestic demand and other serious problems, although residents in a certain extent, the living standard has been greatly improved, but through the collection of data, establishment of test model, empirical analysis, found that residents low consumption rate and decreased gradually, and the emergence of unbalanced situation, especially the income gap continues to expand, exacerbating the consumption gap between urban and rural residents.Consumption justice embodies the basic human rights in the higher development level, should be through the efforts to narrow the income gap to pursue, consumption, investment and net exports are three carriage driving economic growth, while consumption demand is the basic requirement of the total demand, occupy a dominant position, the growth of consumption demand has become the main driving force of economic growth, and affects a country’s economic development speed to a large extent, as for Yunnan Province, is even more so. In China’s "Twelfth Five-Year" plan, Yunnan is regarded as China faces southwest open "bridgehead", this paper selects Yunnan Province as the research object, time series data based on1978-2010, through the study on the income of urban and rural residents, urban and rural residents than the Gene coefficient, expounds the history and present situation of the alteration of income gap urban and rural residents in Yunnan province; secondly, starting from the two aspects of Yunnan province urban and rural residents consumption level and consumption structure, from a different point of view, using the related information and data, a comprehensive analysis of consumer demand in Yunnan province status and consumption; finally, empirical research, mainly through the analysis of measuring the income of urban and rural residents comparison of consumer demand, the income gap between urban and rural residents in Yunnan province changes impact on consumer demand.Research shows, that the income gap between urban and rural residents in Yunnan province expands ceaselessly, inhibit the consumption level is improved to a certain extent, and the city and the countryside consumption patterns have changed with the growth of the economy and the passage of time, the consumption of urban residents on consumption of rural residents has also produced some demonstration effect "". After a deep research on the problem, according to the situation of Yunnan Province, the higher the Engel coefficient of its existence, the low consumption level and consumption structure unreasonable problems were analyzed, and put forward the effective policies and suggestions, improve the income gap between urban and rural residents in Yunnan province to expand and low consumption situation, to promote the sustained, steady development the economy of Yunnan province.
