| As the visit to Hong Kong becomes easier and easier, Hong Kong Disneylandbecomes one of the must visit place for visitors from mainland of China. Now, HongKong Disneyland is a field of care for many visitors. Humanistic geographer Tuan YiFu firstly introduced the terminology “field of care†into humanistic geographicrealm in his essay Space and Place: Humanistic Perspective.“Field of care†mainlymeans a special human emotion for a place. It is considered as a spontaneousaffection. However, nowadays such a spontaneous affection could be constructed. The thesis tried to discuss how did Hong Kong Disneyland prompt Chinesevisitors’ intimate emotion through its successful strategies. The visitors were dividedinto three categories: children; families; and Chinese public. The thesis consists ofthree parts: The first chapter reveals Hong Kong Disneyland planed various Chinesefeatured activities to meet the children’s curiosity about the new things. And then anintimate tie could be established between the children and Hong Kong Disneylandduring the repeated visit. The second chapter divides the family into two differenttypes: family with children and young couples. According to the family with children,Hong Kong Disneyland launched a series of parent-child activity. While to the youngcouples, Hong Kong Disneyland firmly grasped their escapist and nostalgic tendency. While the third chapter focuses on the landscape of Hong Kong Disneyland, discloses that Hong Kong Disneyland added some Chinese traditions to Disney’sown tradition in order to make it more acceptable to the Chinese public. The thesis took Hong Kong Disneyland as its research object, and tried toprove that “fields of care†could be constructed by external factor. By studying HongKong Disneyland from a new aspect, the author hopes to provide a new idea fortheme park study. |
