Reseaech Onthe Effects Of The Cloud Computing Fashion On Corpotate Performance, Reputation And Market Value

Fashion is not the unique phenomenon in the field of culture. It also exists in the diffusion process of information technology innovation. In recent years, the cloud computing technology has developed rapidly in China, which has been the hot topic in society. Numerous Local corporations have developed the corresponding cloud computing strategies, announcing their entrances in the field of cloud computing. However, the effects of the hot cloud computing on the corporate which are chasing it are still unclear. Based on the IT fashion theory, this paper inspects the effects of the cloud computing fashion on corporate reputation, performance and market value, using the data from45local corporate in china from2010to2012.The findings are that, in the fashion period of cloud computing,1) regardless of whether it implemented the cloud computing technology, cooperates associated with the cloud computing informational will gain significant reputation improvement,2) and the cooperates which implemented the cloud computing don’t gain any improvement of performance,3) and similar to the effects on corporate reputation, corporate associated with the cloud computing informational gains limited market value increasing,4) the effects of cloud computing is temporary.This paper conducted the early research of IT fashion phenomenon in the domestic, which, to some extent, contributes to the domestic related theory study. And the findings inform the practitioners of the organizational benefits from chasing the cloud computing fashion, which has a certain practical significance.
