The Input-Output Analysis Of The Impact Of Diet On Environment

With the development of economy and society, the environmental problem becomes increasingly prominent. Especially with the emergence of haze weather recently, people pay more attention to the air quality. Because the increase in carbon dioxide emissions, the greenhouse effect is more serious and global temperature rises. This has a serious impact on coastal residents and wild animals. So we must pay more attention to the problem of carbon dioxide emissions. At the same time, our country is short of water resource. Also its distribution is uneven; it is fewer and fewer from south to north and from east to west. The problem of water resource shortage has become an important factor to restrict China’s agricultural and economic and social development. How to use and protect water resource effectively has become an important topic nowadays.First we analyze the influence of diet on carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization in2000and2009respectively. Then we analyze the influence of diet on carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization in the eastern region and the western region respectively. Also we study the rationality of differential diet to achieve some useful data.This essay mainly studies on effect of the diet on carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization, aiming to provide some useful data to protect environment.This essay mainly uses the data of Chinese Input-Output Table in2007, China Statistical Yearbook, China Environment Yearbook and Yearbook of Chinese Consumption. We make the China Waste Input-Output Table by means of input-output analysis and waste input-output model. On the one hand we analyze the influence of diet on carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization in2000and2009respectively. On the other hand we analyze the influence of diet on carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization in the eastern region and the western region respectively. Then we get the results that the carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization in2000are more than in2009, and the carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization in western region are more than in eastern region. In addition, we also analyze the reason of this phenomenon and aim to make a contribution to the environmental protection.This essay has two innovations. The first one is the compilation of Chinese WIO table with pollutant treatment sectors of burning, landfill and composting The second one is to research the influence of diet on carbon dioxide emissions and the water resource utilization.
