Study On The Relationship Between Company Financial Performances And Carbon Disclosure

With the high speed development in the global economy, the environment of human living has changed a lot. In recent years, the most prominent problem is the greenhouse effect. In response to the carbon tariff and carbon trading right policies, China government has taken actions and called for the development of low carbon economy in recent years. However, since there is no separate carbon information disclosure and accounting, stakeholders can’t fully see the performance of a low carbon management. The article studies the carbon information disclosure of listed companies of SSZE, discusses the relationship between the companies’ financial performance and their carbon disclosure, and puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions.This article selects2011SSZE main board listed companies as samples, analyzes the relationship between corporate financial performance and carbon information disclosure. First, based on the statistical data, the article finds that the overall level of carbon disclosure is low, industry disparity is big, and the most content is descriptive disclosure. Secondly, through average inspection, the article finds that part of the average financial indicators of carbon disclosure enterprise has significant differences compared with the uninvolved enterprises. By establishing a multivariate regression model, the article concludes that the correlation between carbon disclosure quality and the company’s profitability, development ability presents positive, and there is no significant correlation between debt paying ability and carbon disclosure quality. At the same time, this paper also finds that carbon information disclosure is not related to companies’ market performance. Finally, based on the above research results, this paper puts forward personal suggestions and countermeasures of carbon information disclosure of listed companies in our country.
