Study On Industrial Heritage Tourism Development From The Perspective Of Urban Characteristic Culture Construction

Since the1990s, in our country, rapid development of urbanization and upgrade ofindustrial structure lead to a large number of industrial sites and abandoned industrialbuildings, etc. These industrial heritages have extremely precious cultural value andeconomic value. They are an important resource of industrial heritage tourismdevelopment and urban characteristic culture construction. However, in the process ofChina’s large-scale urban renewal and real estate development, industrial remains arefacing the danger of being swallowed up and causing the loss of urban culturalcharacteristic. Therefore, the protection of industrial heritage, the development ofindustrial heritage tourism, carrying forward the traditional industrial culture, andpromoting the construction of urban characteristic culture have become an importantissue which we need to study.According to the Urban Organic Renewal Theory, Urban Cultural Capital Theoryand theory of industrial heritage protection and utilization, using the methods such asliterature analysis, comparative analysis and field survey, combining with theknowledge of history, culturology, sociology and other disciplines, this paper focuseson the research of industrial heritage tourism development, and obtains somesystematic conclusions. Industrial heritage possesses cultural attribute and economicattribute, including cultural attribute is the theoretical basis of building industrialheritage cultural value evaluation system. The cultural value of industrial heritagemainly contains history value, science-technology value, artistic esthetic value,scarcity value, representation value. Cultural connotation of industrial heritage is themain embodiment of urban characteristic culture and the basis of industrial heritagetourism development. Industrial heritage tourism is an important way of promotingurban characteristic culture construction, and urban characteristic culture constructionis one of the important purposes of industrial heritage tourism. The maincharacteristics of industrial heritage tourism include outstanding cultural theme,distinctive regional culture, strong nostalgia complex, remarkable educationalfunction. From the perspective of urban characteristic culture, the modes of industrialheritage tourism development mainly include industrial theme museum, industrial cultural landscape park, cultural and creative industry park and industrial heritagetourism routes; besides development paths mainly include protecting industrialheritage resources and extending industrial cultural context, designing competitiveindustrial heritage tourism lines and upgrading industrial cultural theme, enhancingindustrial heritage tourism publicity and promoting industrial cultural spirit,organizing industrial heritage tourism elaborately and experiencing industrial culturalcharm. The industrial characteristic culture of Wuxi is prominent, so industrialheritage tourism and urban characteristic culture is interdependent, synergistic,coordinated. This case has an important enlightenment for other cities to developindustrial heritage tourism in China. Overall, industrial heritage tourism developmentis not only to promote urban economic development, but also be responsible forpromoting urban characteristic culture construction.
