China’s outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) has developed very rapidly in the past thirty years of reform and opening-up. Especially after the world financial crisis, although the world outward foreign direct investment has decreased, China’s outward foreign direct investment has been increasing. Our government attaches great importance to China’s outward foreign direct investment. There will be more forms which will begin or continue their investment abroad during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan Program, which means a lot for the firms and our government. After crisis, whether there are some new traits and trends, what are the most important factors and how to promote the progress of foreign investment are all urgent things we should solve immediately. So, it’s very important for Chinese government to do research in foreign direct investment and its influence factors.Based on the related international foreign direct investment theory, the paper analyzes the current situation, the new traits and trends of the post financial crisis era, choose several variables to do empirical researches to provide important information to Chinese firms and government. The paper includes six chapters. The first chapter gives the study purpose, significance, literature review, research methods as well as the innovations of the paper. In chapter two, we introduce traditional theories and its explanations of influence factors. In chapter three, we make descriptive analysis on the country of the foreign investment, regions and industry; also we introduce the new traits and trends of foreign direct investment. In chapter four, according to famous theories and the current situation, the paper choose several variables to make research on the factors of China’s foreign direct investment. In chapter five, we put forward to our proposition, and in chapter six, we summarize and classify our main conclusions and in the meantime, point out the possible creations.
