With the development of the market and the global economy influence, the furniture production enterprises are facing more and more fierce market competition. The manufacturing mode facing order gradually becomes the enterprises’main mode, and in some extents,the product production cycle directly determines the enterprise reaction speed to the market demands. In order to keep competitive advantage in the fierce market competition, many enterprises pay more attention to improve of the strain capacity for the market changing, the fast responses to the order. And the enterprises pursuit of quick and efficient production organization method, and the fast delivery production operation mode. Thus it is an important work to cope with external environmental challenges by increasing the customer satisfaction, and shorten production cycle, and at last, achieve the goal to improve the enterprises competitiveness.Theory of Constraints (TOC) is created by Goldratt who is an Israel Physicists in the1980s. The idea of the Theory of Constraints is that each system has one bottleneck, and the performance of the whole system is determined by the most vulnerable part,named the bottleneck. In the manufacturing enterprises, the manufacturing management is the most important function, which also be considered as the "constraint factors". The TOC advocates extremely stressed the importance of the constraint factors, claiming that operators should transfer the energy from other aspects to the constraint factors. TOC not only puts forward their own ideas, but also launches a series of effective methods and tools:such as TOC nine management principle; TOC five core steps; TOC thinking process (TP); DBR control system and so on. These methods and tools help operators to identify and remove system hard constraints and soft constraints. Depended on its unique, simple, efficient, good compatibility and practical characteristics, TOC has been quickly adopted by many enterprises and groups in Europe and America, and in different fields it produces unusually effective. TOC can help enterprise effectively improve output, without any increase in investment, human, and machine equipment. etc.This paper researches from the general situation of ZengBen (dalian) wood industry co., LTD.(hereinafter referred to as:ZengBen wood), and then do the detail case analysis in view of the long production cycle for ZengBen wood, through the logic analysis to the historical problems and data, and production status of the detailed investigation. First of all, through the TOC thinking process (TP) analysis, this paper analyzes the ZengBen wood production operation management problems, and find out the root cause of the problems; Secondly, in view of the main problems in the management of ZengBen wood, the paper put forward the concrete countermeasures to shorten the production cycle, from the TOC tool and process, such as the bottleneck identification, the buffer management, batch control aspects and so on. And then, evaluate the implementation effects of the TOC project. Finally, present the implementation obstacles during the TOC production improvement project, and meanwhile put forward the coping strategies. This paper tries to show the operable production management measures, summarizes the succeed implementation experience in the TOC process, all of these are hoped to provide some valuable references for other enterprises to improve production management, and then to improve the enterprise core competence.
