The Impact Of Russia’s Accession To The WTO On Economics And Trade Cooperation Between China And Russia

Along with the tide of economic globalization, regional economic integration has also been developed rapidly since the1990s. Economical and trade relations between the countries are also closer and closer. As the two big neighboring countries, China and Russia have close collaboration in bilateral relations and regional cooperation as well as the international areas. The two sides have built a strategic partnership of cooperation. These mean that Sino-Russian political relations have reached a very high level, But due to many factors, the scale of Sino-Russian bilateral trade is not so large now. Sino-Russian trade cooperation far falls behind the political cooperation. By the end of2011, Russia joined the WTO, China and Russia both sides are necessary to use this opportunity to promote the bilateral cooperation of economic and trade to create a new situation, to step on a new level, to change the bilateral trade which is small, and urge the bilateral trade to healthy, stable, and orderly, and develop rapidly.This thesis takes Sino-Russian trade development as the main object; takes comparative advantage, factor endowment and other international trade theory as the theoretical basis of analysis; takes the present situation and existence problems of Sino-Russian trade as the logical beginning; takes the influencing of Russia joined the WTO to the bilateral trade as the important content. It also put forward the corresponding proposal of further development of the trade between China and Russia. This thesis has5chapters as follows. In charpterl, the thesis introduces the background and significance of this research. A review of related studies abroad and home about Russia joined the WTO and the trade between China and Russia. In chapter2, the thesis analysis the current situation and problems of Sino-Russian trade. This part covers lots of statistical data, causing the analysis to be more intuitive and concrete. In chapter3, through the analysis of Sino-Russian trade related trade index, such as China and Russia trade comparative advantage index, trade between China and Russia each index and the index of industry inner trade, etc. Found that (1) the competitiveness of the Chinese products in the Russian market is stronger,(2) the cheek by jowl with the trade between China and Russia,(3) between the two countries and industrial complimentarily is higher. In chapter4, this part especially research on Russia’s accession to the WTO for the influence of the trade relationship between China and Russia. Firstly, this part reviews the course of Russia’s entry into the WTO; secondly this part introduces the main commitment of Russia’s entry into the WTO, and finally, this part especially in research on the impact of the economic and trade between China and Russia after Russia’s entry into the WTO, Including the new opportunity and challenge as well. In chapter5, this part put forward a new idea that propel the economic and trade relationship between China and Russia under the framework of WTO. In order to lose no time to seize the historical opportunity of economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia (Russia’s entry into the WTO), and promote the further development of Sino-Russia trade, China and Russia should take corresponding measures and countermeasures.
