Lacking Of Enterprise’s Integrity In Our Country: Causes And Countermeasures

Integrity is not only the base of an enterprise’s health development, but also the source ofan enterprise’s competitiveness. As the main part of Socialist Marketing Economics,managing enterprises with integrity could drive the market economy more orderly andharmoniously. As an important part of the socialist credit system, managing enterprises withintegrity is significant for the foundation of the good social morality. However, in our currentsociety, lacking of enterprise’s integrity occurs frequently. These actions restrict thedevelopment of Chinese economy seriously, on one hand it could hinder the developments ofthe enterprises, and on the other hand it could disturb the normal order of the market economyand corrupt social values. In recent years, several typical events of lacking enterprise’sintegrity shocked the whole society so strongly, that solving this problem is urgently needed.Currently, the main performance of the problem that lacking of enterprise’s integrity inour country is to manufacture and sell the counterfeit goods, make false advertisement; debtdefaults, breach of contract; enterprises evade tax payment, pollute the environment. Themain reasons for the discreditable behavior above are the result of the enterprise’s one-sidedpursuit of economic benefit maximization, social morality and economic development is notharmonious, the lagging construction of Legal System in our country.Based on the problems and reasons above, to solve the problem first should pay attentionto the enterprise interior, reinforcing the enterprise internal personnel’s moral education,forming business concept about enterprise’s integrity, constructing the enterprise culture,which is based on integrity. Second, we should put “Rule by law” and “Rule of virtue” to theequally important status, strengthening the construction of Legal System, standardizinggovernment behavior and government regulation as well as strengthening the moral educationfor citizens, forming the social atmosphere of honesty and trustworthiness, thus could webuild a good external environment for enterprise’s integrity construction. Third, we shoulddraw lessons from international and domestic beneficial practice, establishing a unifiednational credit system.
