Research On Energy Efficiency Of Shandong Province Under The Environmental Constraints

Energy is important to human survival and development of material basis and thepower source, is an important strategic material for the country’s economic lifeline andnational security. Shandong Province as an energy province, an important source of energyand energy consumption, has a unique advantage in coal, oil, metals and non-metallicmineral resources, whose economy has been rapid development. However, we need a clearunderstanding that the rapid economic development is based on the consumption of energyresources, the growth of energy demand has also brought the problem of environmentalpollution, it’s a great significance to solve a huge energy demand and environmental issuesfor promoting the sustainable development of Shandong Province’s economic and social.Therefore, it has a great significance to research Shandong Province’s energy efficiencylevels under the environmental constraints.This paper collected the corresponding data of Shandong Province and17cities from2006to2010, built a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model, and analyzed the energyefficiency levels of Shandong Province and17cities, calculated the relative efficiencyvalue and ranking of Shandong Province and17cities in five years, the results show thatthe Shandong Province of the overall energy utilization efficiency level is not high, theinput indicators and output indicators where exists room for improvement. After theanalysis of energy efficiency levels, constructed a panel data model with the correspondingpanel data in the five years, analyzed the main factors affected the energy efficiency levels,the results show that: Increasing the expenses of R&D to the value of GDP, the proportionof primary industry,the proportion of tertiary industry will increase the energy efficiencylevels of Shandong Province and municipalities; Increasing the proportion of secondaryindustry, the proportion of variable oil consumption and the proportion of electricityconsumption will reduce the energy efficiency levels of Shandong Province andmunicipalities. Finally, according to the results of the analysis, this paper put forward somesuggestions to improve the energy efficiency levels of Shandong Province.
