Along with the end of the Cold War, the relations between different nations arebecoming closely daily through all kinds of means and multi-channels and constructinga (complex) interdependence situation. Particularly in the global economic aspects,which is based on the development of productivity and international division of labour,its competitiveness and interdependence are obvious. On the premise that the theme ofthe modern world is still peace and development, the international competitiveness isshifting from the high politics to low politics, embodied in the comprehensive nationalpower and during which the economic power is the core. The formation anddevelopment of the world political structure is based on the economic structure, thesetwo are interacting and interplaying.The role of economy is so important that economic interest has become thepriority for nations. The economic competitiveness has become the usual means torealize the political goal, the world politics economization and the world economypoliticalization is common. The international economic regimes designed after theWorld War two, such as the IMF and World Bank are weakening. As the rising of theemerging countries and the emergence of many new problems, the regimes have to bechanged. The economic growth of the developed world is slow, whereas the emergingcountries such as China, India, Brazil are booming, they have apparently become thelocomotive of the world economic growth and avoid the second recession after the2008financial crisis.The rights for regulation of global economic governance has become the scarceresources to major powers. With the rising of the emerging world, they inevitably willask more change on the international rules and regulation. To solve the problems, theworld need the cooperation of the emerging world, such as the G20. The BRICS, as theuseful complementary world economic governance regime, is an obvious tendency toindicate the more reasonable and balanced shift and change of the world political andeconomic order.This essay, focused on the BRICS and its influence towards the global economic governance, is divided into three parts, the first part retrospect the necessity andweakness of the global economic governance regimes constructed after the secondWorld War, provide the validity base for the participation of the BRICS. The secondpart is the general overview on the emergence of the BRICS and their characteristicsand advantages when compared with the developed world, they asked morereformation of the global economic governance. The third part is centered on themeans of the BRICS to take part in the governance of the global economy. And theconclusion is mainly narrate the disadvantages of the BRICS when strive for theinitiative during the global economic governance.
