Population is an important issue that country face in the development of socialeconomy faces. The relationship between Population and economic growth not onlyreflected in the total population or population growth Angle, population age structurechange generated "population dividend" effect of a country or region also has importantinfluence on the economic growth. Therefore, how to make full use of demographicdividend and exert its effect to promote sustained economic growth, is important to ourcountry.This article by "population dividend" theory as a foundation, study the characteristicsof the population bonus, the existing problems and the role of economic growth of HubeiProvince. Model results show: with the change in population age structure, labor supplyhas increased, labor participation has improved, they will influence on economic growth;Due to the differences of age, stages source of income is different, so that the result ofsavings and corresponding action will have something to differences, it will also affecteconomic growth; At the same time, because of the differences of people’s consumptiontendency and ability, the whole society’s different ability of consumption level andconsumption structure change will influence economic growth; There are lots of workingage population in the rural areas, if these rich labor resources go into a large city, will playeffects on the configuration of the huge labor elements and influenced economic growth.The results are shown in varying degrees that the “demographic dividend”, will promoteeconomic growth in Hubei Province.In accordance with determination “demographic dividend period” in Hubei Province,in order to promote the “demographic dividend” effect maximization in Hubei Province,population aging, labors’ overall quality, surplus rural labor force and other issues isdescribed. And some suggestions are offered to make best use of “demographic dividend”.
