The Impact Of RMB Appreciation On The Competitive Of Agriculture Product Exports

In recent years, the appreciation of RMB becomes a hot issue, much attention hasbeen paid to it by the international community and academia. The focus is that thenegative impact of RMB appreciation on China’s economy. Agriculture is the basicindustries in China. the export of agricultural products has a great influence on theincrease of farmers’ income and improves China’s import and export trade structure.The paper focused on the competitiveness of China’s agricultural exports, useagricultural exports competitiveness index indicators, analysis the changes in thecompetitiveness of China’s agricultural exports, at the same time, research the structuralof the agricultural exports. RMB real effective exchange rate of2000-2010years as theexplanatory variables, establish the error correction model, analysis the impact of RMBappreciation on the export competitiveness. The results showed that the changes in thereal effective exchange rate of the RMB and export competitiveness of agriculturalproducts was a significant negative correlation.the RMB appreciation will bring acertain degree of negative impact on the export competitiveness of agricultural productsin China.Based on the research results, focused on improving the export competitiveness ofagricultural products under the pressure of RMB appreciation, finally, the paperproposes policy recommendations.
