In2002-2007, China’s drug costs increased from267.658billion yuan to471.546billion yuan, compound annual growth rate of nearly10%. Growth in per capita drugcosts from208.43yuan in2002to356.94yuan in2007, the compound annual growthrate of nearly9.4%. the rapid growth of drug costs triggered a series of questions: therapid growth of drug costs increased the economic burden of patients; gave birth to aseries of commercial bribery and the growth of drug costs brought problems to themedical insurance system reform and implementation and so on.In order to control the rapid growth of drug costs, the author, through theintroduction of foreign drug cost control measures, hoping to be able to explore asuitable situation of China’s measures to control drug costs on the basis of foreignexperience. Foreign long-term development already has a perfect drug cost controlstrategies, including drug pricing, pharmaceutical distribution, drug varieties, doctors,drug manufacturers and insurance agencies. Draw lessons from the foreign drug costcontrol experience, the author from the drug prices, drug distribution, drug of hospitaland physician compensation, the catalogue of drugs and drug co-payment as well asanalyze China’s medicine cost control present situation and the existing problems andthe corresponding countermeasures were put forward. The main countermeasures arerational pricing of drugs, norms prescribing behavior, change "drugs make medical"policy, drug copayments, generic drug substitution.
