China's Foreign Trade In The Infant Industry Selection And Protection

Since2001, China joined the WTO; we had made a great progress in the aspect ofeconomy and international reputation. As the acceleration of the pace of trade liberalization,the national industries, which developed on the base of high protection trade policy, havein the meet of the extremely external challenge, these industries are lack of vitality andmotivation of innovate, so they have not had the ability to join in the internationalcompetition. The issues of the protection of infant industries are closer to us. WTOadvocates the principles of free trade, but it does not oppose the members to adoptappropriate measure to protect the domestic infant industries, so china should make gooduse of this protection regulation to protect and develop the domestic industries.This paper takes the infant industrial as the research object, elaborates the origin andthe development of the infant industrial protection theory, connects existing standard ofinfant industrial and the international experience of infant industry protection, refines thespecial chosen standard and selects a few of quantitative index. At last, we chose severalinfant industries from the existing industries. On the base of analysis the present situation,we connect the new situation and put forward some relative suggestions. The author hopesthat this paper can turn into a reference material, with which the government chose andprotect Chinese infant industrial.
