China's Second-tier Cities Exhibition Economy Development Problems And Countermeasures

It has been about400years of history since17thcentury in the foreign conventionand exposition industry. It had great progress in form, content and function, servicefacilities of convention and exposition industry, and it has become a new economicform which is named convention and exposition economy. Now, it has become anindispensable important component in the world economy development. In China,convention and exposition started later and developed quickly as an industry after thereform and opening up especially in the21st century. Convention and expositioneconomy has been formed the city economic important engine in fist-tier city such asShanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou city in the present, but convention and expositioneconomic development has many problems in second-tier city. Therefore, this papermainly studies second-tier city convention and exposition economic problems, suchas Dongguan, Ji’nan, Chengdu and Shen’yang, and puts forward the countermeasuresand suggestions.This text is divided into five parts. Chapter1for the introduction part, mainly putsforward the research background, significance, methods, status and ideas. Chapter2as the basic theory part, mainly defines the related concept, and carries on thefoundation of theoretical analysis. In concept definition, mainly defines theconvention and exposition, convention and exposition industry, convention andexposition economy and second-tier city. In the basic theoretical analysis, mainlyintroduced the industrial structure theory, industrial organization theory, the industrialconvention theory and industrial cluster theory. Chapter3main analysis of theproblem existing in convention and exposition economic development in second-tiercity. First of all, analyzes overall situation of convention and exposition in second-tiercity, then analyzes the main problems, which include laws and regulations, policyhiatus, lowly marketize and specialized, shortage of the industrial connection andcluster, low degree of brand and international development, facilities and lack oftalent team, the lack of government function, etc. Chapter4analyzes convention and exposition economic development countermeasures and suggestions in second-tiercity, mainly contains perfecting policy laws and regulations, paying attention tomarket operation pattern, developing as a whole in convention and expositionindustry, creating the international exhibition brand, perfecting the relevant basicguarantee, giving full play to the positive function of government, etc. Chapter5forthe conclusion, sums up the text, and puts forward the future direction of the research.The innovation of this paper is summarizing in convention and expositioneconomic characteristic of second-tier city, and putting forward some opinions in theanalysis of the existing problems. At the same time, puts forward some original ideasin solving the problems of convention and exposition economic development insecond-tier city. The shortage of the paper is mastering the basic theory in-depth andanalyzing some problems not enough and deep.
