Highway construction has great significance to China’s economic development. It can rapidly improve the development of China’s international status and prestige. National highway undertakings have developed rapidly and rank the second in the world at present. The main problems of Large-scale construction are financial difficulties and financial channel. These become hot topics for domestic and foreign academic circles to study.Being a relatively backward western province in traffic development, Guangxi introduced highway construction only ten years ago, and most measures borrowed from other provinces and cities as reference. Without establishing a set of financial system suitable for its own development and giving priority to planned economic system, Guangxi can’t make marketing reformation well. There are more and more highway construction projects in recent years in Guangxi. And the road networks became more intensive. The following ten years will be a period for Guangxi to concentrating on building highway. Hence, it needs a big construction funds to meet its project construction. While Guangxi’s economy is less developed with weak financial capability and it can’t afford the funds needed. Depending only on bank loans will become harder and harder for getting the construction funds. It urgently needs to resolve the problem of capital shortage by effective way. And now we can only get a small amount of highway financial supports through few channels, methods in the lack of necessary innovation. So it is quite positive and practically significant to study the mode of highway financing in Guangxi, which will have a certain degree of theoretical value.Through analyzing the characteristic and financing mode of highway with the domestic and foreign theory of investment and financing, describing the characteristics of financing models, analyzing financing structure and financing environment and combining development situation and financing status of Guangxi, the thesis is to be the first one to systematically research the highway problem and its genesis in Guangxi including serious local protection, shortage of various financing ways function, poor social financing environment. And then to explore the financing strategy of highway construction projects in Guangxi through reference the successful domestic and foreign experiences. At last it comes to the conclusion of the thesis and points out the proposal of the author and the research work remains to be completed.
