Foreign Trade Company Bpr And ERP System Design

There are a large number of small and medium sized foreign trade companies in China,The industry involves many fields, variable factors and lots of risks, and the company scalesare relatively small and scattered. Information technology is becoming more and moreimportant, so information construction consciousness is increasing among companies. Themain points of this paper are how to learn from the concept of BPR to rebuild the processes oftraditional trade company; how to build an ERP system by information technology, and howto develop advantage by ERP system to meet the needs of modern management.First of all the characteristics of foreign trade industry and the present applicationsituation of ERP are summarized, the main contents and research methods are identified andthe frame of this paper is outlined. Based on the background of JK Company, the SWOTcompetitiveness and strategic targets are analyzed and organization structure defects are foundand a new structure is redesigned. Then based on BPR and ERP theory, the current businessprocesses of JK are described in detail by SIPOC and flow diagrams, the existing problemsare analyzed by ASME method, the solutions and recommendations are proposed and theprocesses are optimized and reengineered to build a brand new, suitable business process forcurrent situation. Finally an ERP system is design after BPR, the system is divided into6parts which are system management, purchase, sales, transportation, financial and HRsub-systems. This ERP system covers the whole process of foreign trade operation, itsapplication function satisfies the management needs of foreign trade company, and solves thecurrent existing problems.Based on the application of the ERP system, an evaluation model is built, and theeffectiveness of BPR and ERP are analyzed. Finally the work done in this paper issummarized and the direction of further work is pointed out. Over all, this paper providesuseful suggestions to the companies that are in a reformation.
