If the traditional manufacturing companies can not find solutions toadapt the change, their manufacturing cost would become more and more high or even getloss.PX is a company whitch provides labels and tags for world wide retail brand owners. Itis facing the same scenario mentioned above. Especially from2008, in order to improve thevariety of their products, new products were developed one by another. This causes theorder mix PX received becomes increasingly complicated. But the average order sizedbecomes increasingly small. And also, the sampling orders increase quickly (PX providessamples to the customers free of charge, so the sampling cost also increases). Meantime, thecompetition in the printing industrial is also turning more and more intense. Although, theproducts are becoming complicated, the price has not increased but even reduced. Along therise of labor cost and material cost, the profit of the company is becoming more and morecritical.This dissertation introduced some actual problems PX company was facing. Some soliddata was to explain those problems. The negative aspect of these problems was alsodescribed here. Then analysis the root causes of the problems. For every single problem,how to resolve with related methodology. This article demonstrated a example of reducingthe exchange time with SMED for a offset press to introduce the methsodologies used andhow PX comany implement these methodologies. And illustrate that what is the effect, thelesson learned and the experiences.
