Study On The Effect Of East Japan Earthquake On The Sino-Japanese Intra-industry Trade

Since1960s in the last century, international trade has had a series of changes inthe cases of set-up of production and geography structure. Traditional mode of trade,which is more competitive due to relying on resources, is gradually losing itsdeveloping space. While the trade volume between developed industry countries as wellas between similar products increases a lot. Intra-industry trade develops fast andgradually becomes the main trend of the international trade.Now, China is the second biggest economic body over the world and the Japanranks behind. They are important trade partners to each other. Since the reform and openin the last30years, bilateral trade between two countries had increased up year afteryear, especially the intra-industry trade got a rapid development. A large number of thedomestic scholars are engaged in studying the Sino-Japan intra-industry trade.On March11th,2011, the Japanese submarine was subjected to a strong earthquakein northeast, and induced Tsunami and the nuclear leakage double enormous disaster,some of the Japanese industry were damaged, which affected the Sino-Japaneseeconomy. In this thesis, based on summary of previous study, the author mainly focuseson the change and trend of Sino-Japan intra-industry trade, studies the impact of this bigcatastrophe to intra-industry trade, and puts forward some suggestions to ourgovernment and the relevant enterprises decision-makers.This thesis is divided into the following parts:First, introduce the concept of intra-industry trade, related theoretical research andmeasurement of intra-industry trade, and the background and significance of this article.Second, make a survey and a general analysis of Sino-Japan intra-industry tradedevelopment status before the eastern Japan earthquake, and analyze the national level,industry level of the effects of intra-industry trade growth factors.Third, make a survey of Sino-Japan intra-industry trade change condition after theeast Japan earthquake, and comparisons with2010, analyze the new characteristicspresented.Forth, after analyzing the fields of car, electronics and agriculture, the authorexplains the positive or negative influence to the related industries in China after theeast Japan earthquake thoroughly.At last, put forward that our country government should deal with challenges bythrough increasing the national income level, economies of scale, promoting thedevelopment of bilateral economic and trade, introducing the Japanese direct investment.In addition, put forward corresponding methods to the industry level of our countrysuch as automotive, electronic, mechanical, agriculture, tourism and other specificindustry to deal with the challenge.
